We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Food and Beverage Manager to join our team in Baghdad, Iraq. In this pivotal leadership role, you will oversee all food and beverage operations, ensuring exceptional service delivery, operational excellence, and consistent profitability. You will be responsible for creating memorable dining experiences while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities

  • Maintain a strong floor presence during shifts, greeting guests and fostering positive relationships to ensure exceptional customer experiences
  • Conduct daily inspections to verify readiness and compliance with established operational standards and procedures
  • Oversee all opening and closing procedures, including shift logs, pre-service briefings, guest feedback processes, and menu optimization
  • Ensure fast, accurate service delivery while maintaining consistency with company quality standards and brand expectations
  • Supervise tabletop presentation and dining room ambiance to create an inviting atmosphere for all guests
  • Direct and supervise service staff, providing real-time guidance and support to maintain service excellence
  • Handle guest concerns and complaints with diplomacy, tact, and professionalism to resolve conflicts and ensure satisfaction
  • Monitor food quality and beverage standards to guarantee 100% customer satisfaction and brand consistency
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive menu knowledge, including food offerings, beverage pairings, and wine selections
  • Manage inventory of equipment, linens, supplies, and other operational resources efficiently
  • Analyze and manage Profit & Loss statements, monitor cash control procedures, and implement cost-saving initiatives
  • Oversee labor scheduling and staffing forecasts to ensure adequate coverage while maintaining budgetary goals
  • Utilize POS systems effectively to track guest checks, manage transactions, and generate accurate financial reports
  • Monitor service speed and exercise quality control for both food and beverage operations
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve operations and guest experiences
  • Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Act, local health and safety regulations, and company security policies
  • Communicate maintenance needs to the Engineering Department through established work order procedures
  • Maintain storerooms in a clean, organized, and ready state for efficient operations
  • Foster positive working relationships between service, kitchen, and dining room staff to promote collaboration
  • Lead recruitment, interviewing, and hiring initiatives; conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing staff development and motivation
  • Develop and manage wine lists and beverage programs that complement menu offerings
  • Provide wine service expertise and sommelier support to enhance guest experiences and elevate service performance
  • Work collaboratively with the culinary team to suggest wine pairings that complement menu items
  • Maintain all wine lists, menus, and beverage documentation with accuracy and attention to detail

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years of progressive food and beverage management experience in a freestanding restaurant, hotel, or similar hospitality establishment
  • Strong and comprehensive knowledge of food, wine, and liquor offerings, including pairing expertise
  • Excellent customer service skills with a demonstrated ability to exceed guest expectations consistently
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel
  • Advanced proficiency with POS systems and point-of-sale technology
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills; competency in basic business math and accounting
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with a track record of motivating and developing team members
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, remain calm during peak service periods, and adapt to changing circumstances
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to handle guest complaints with diplomacy and professionalism
