About the job

The Digital Settlement and Reconciliation Officer are responsible for processing refunds and payments and for performing reconciliation and settlement for digital services and in-app service clients (e-Psula, bundles, and other digital/payment partners). The role ensures transactions are accurate, properly documented, and settled on time, investigates and escalates discrepancies, and supports financial controls and audit readiness. The Officer reports to the Senior Digital Settlement and Reconciliation Officer and works closely with Finance, Product, Customer Care, and external partners. Fluency in Kurdish and Arabic is required.

Responsibilities

  • Process customer and partner refund requests accurately and within agreed timelines
  • Prepare and process payments and reimbursements for digital service partners and vendors in line with approved limits and procedures
  • Communicate with customers, partners, and internal teams in Kurdish and Arabic to clarify and resolve refund, payment, and settlement queries
  • Escalate exceptions, disputes, and unresolved discrepancies to the Senior Officer promptly with supporting details
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and audit-ready supporting documentation for all refunds, payments, and settlements
  • Follow company financial policies, approval workflows, and internal controls when handling refunds and payments
  • Perform daily and monthly reconciliation of digital service transactions (payment gateway, partner, and internal system records)
  • Prepare settlement reports and process settlement of amounts due to or from digital and payment partners
  • Verify refund eligibility and validate refund requests against transaction records before processing
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies such as failed, duplicate, or mismatched transactions and refund differences, escalating complex cases
  • Track invoices and update ledgers, settlement trackers, and cost center records to keep financial data accurate
  • Support internal and external audits and suggest improvements to reconciliation and settlement processes

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. A relevant professional certification is a plus.
  • +1 year of experience in finance, accounting, payments, reconciliation, or digital settlement roles. Fresh graduates with relevant internship or academic experience are welcome. Good Excel skills, basic knowledge of accounting principles, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work with payment/digital service data are required. Experience with digital/payment gateway reconciliation is a plus.
