Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across accommodation, kitchens, dining areas, toilets and common facilities.
- Prepare daily meals and refreshments for staff and visitors, in accordance with agreed menus and dietary requirements.
- Ensure safe food handling, preparation and storage, maintaining appropriate hygiene and food safety standards.
- Manage kitchen supplies and food stocks, reporting shortages and supporting timely replenishment.
- Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, dining areas and food preparation surfaces after use.
- Collect and dispose of waste and rubbish safely and maintain a clean and organized environment.
- Monitor and properly use cleaning products, cooking equipment and other household supplies.
- Report any maintenance issues, hazards, damaged equipment or other concerns to the office manager and comply with organizational health, safety and hygiene procedures.
- Support the wider operational needs of the programme as directed by senior management.
Working hours
- Five days per week for eight hours per day, with Friday and Saturday being rest days, notwithstanding travel and non-routine events.
Notes
- General terms, conditions and requirements will be in line with those for HALO national staff and your contract.
- This position will be based in Basra.
