Community Mobilizer · Shirqat

Al-Mesalla is hiring a Community Mobilizer for a 7-month service contract covering Shirqat and Baiji to lead community outreach, event organization, and beneficiary follow-up. Candidates must have at least a secondary education and 2 years of NGO field or mobilization experience.

About the job

Al-Mesalla.ORG for Human Resources Development is a non-governmental, non-profit civil society organization registered with both the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and the Iraqi Central Government. Since 2004, Al-Mesalla has been actively operating in Iraq, focusing on civil society empowerment, women’s rights, livelihoods, peace, and justice.

Al-Mesalla Organization for Human Resources Development is implementing a 12-month project supporting the reintegration of Iraqi returnees from Northeast Syria and vulnerable host-community members in Ramadi and Fallujah in Anbar Governorate and Shirqat and Baiji in Salah al-Din Governorate. The project works exclusively through existing government and community structures rather than creating parallel systems.

Four connected outputs operate in the same locations. Output 1 strengthens existing MHPSS and case management structures. Output 2 strengthens the capacities of existing Local Peace Committees to facilitate inclusive dialogue and implement conflict-sensitive community initiatives. Output 3 improves employability, livelihood readiness and access to employment, self-employment and financial services. Output 4 strengthens the capacities of frontline government institutions in coordinated case management, service information, referrals, outreach, and complaints and feedback support. The project reaches 1,284 unique direct beneficiaries.

The Community Mobilizer provides the day-to-day community access on which field delivery depends. The post covers two districts, identifies and follows up beneficiaries, organises the practical side of community events, and maintains the relationships with local authorities, mukhtars and community structures that allow the project to work in sensitive return areas. The post is engaged for the seven months of concentrated field activity.

  • Organise the practical arrangements for field events, including venue readiness, participant lists and transport coordination.
  • Support the field team during service days and community initiative implementation.
  • Maintain the field documentation required for each event.

Requirements

  • At least two years of experience in community mobilisation or field work with NGOs.
  • Established relationships and accepted standing in the assigned districts.
  • Ability to reach and communicate with vulnerable groups, including women, youth and persons with disabilities.
  • Basic documentation skills, including attendance sheets and field reporting.
