Climate KRD is hiring a full-time Project Coordinator in Erbil to oversee operational field activities, data collection, and community initiatives for climate and environmental projects across the Kurdistan Region.

About the job

Climate KRD is looking for a Project Coordinator to support the day-to-day operational activities of its projects, with a primary focus on field visits and project assistance.

Working under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Project Coordinator will help ensure that project activities are effectively implemented in the field, and that project data, documentation, and assigned tasks are maintained accurately and on time.

The role requires regular field presence, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with the project team to contribute to the successful delivery of climate and environmental initiatives across the Kurdistan Region.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular field visits assigned by the Program Manager to project sites to monitor activities, document progress, and ensure alignment with project plans.
  • Assist in implementing Climate KRD project activities in the field, including community engagement, environmental surveys, and awareness campaigns.
  • Collect, enter, and maintain accurate project data in relevant databases, spreadsheets, and reporting systems in a timely manner.
  • Support the preparation of field visit reports, data summaries, and activity updates for submission to the Program Manager.
  • Maintain organized records and filing systems for project documents, field data, photos, and reports.
  • Liaise with field-level stakeholders, community representatives, and local partners as directed by the Program Manager.
  • Support the tracking of project indicators by gathering and recording relevant data from field activities.
  • Assist in organizing workshops, training sessions, and Climate KRD events.
  • Follow up on pending field tasks and promptly report any issues or challenges to the Program Manager.
  • Perform other related tasks assigned by the Program Manager that support the overall objectives of Climate KRD.

Requirements

  • Good understanding of project coordination and field data collection methods.
  • Strong data-entry skills with attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate effectively.
  • Must hold a valid driving license.
  • Flexible to work and travel at any time, including field visits to different cities across the Kurdistan Region.
  • Willingness to undertake frequent field travel within the Region.
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Climate Change, or a related field.
  • A diploma with demonstrated relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in climate change and environmental project coordination and fieldwork.
