Mechanical Technician needed in Erbil Downtown to handle preventive and corrective maintenance on pumps, fire suppression systems, and drainage equipment.
About the job
Responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance, inspection, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment within the project, ensuring their safe, efficient, and continuous operation.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, operate, and maintain Fire Pumps, Jockey Pumps, and Diesel Pumps, including pressure checks, testing, troubleshooting, and documenting faults.
- Conduct periodic inspection and maintenance of fire extinguishers, including CO₂, Powder, and Foam types, and ensure proper installation, pressure levels, validity dates, and replacement of expired or damaged units.
- Inspect and maintain automatic fire suppression systems in electrical and transformer rooms and report any defects or expired components.
- Inspect and maintain drainage systems, including drains, Float Valves, Overflow systems, filters, and related components.
- Inspect and maintain water pumps, water tanks, valves, pressure systems, and pipelines.
- Conduct regular inspections of mechanical rooms and identify any faults, maintenance requirements, or potential issues.
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of mechanical equipment according to the maintenance schedule and operational requirements.
- Respond to and resolve daily maintenance requests and complaints from tenants related to mechanical systems.
- Respond to emergency maintenance situations and take the necessary corrective actions.
- Monitor the availability of mechanical spare parts and materials and submit requests for required spare parts when necessary.
- Carry out cleaning and maintenance of drainage grilles throughout the project and ensure proper rainwater drainage.
- Inspect, clean, and maintain water/sewage collection wells, including regular cleaning and emptying as required.
- Inspect, maintain, and repair pumps and related mechanical equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure continuous operation.
- Coordinate with the Electrical and Civil Departments when maintenance work requires joint technical support.
- Follow up on mechanical maintenance works carried out by contractors and service providers and report completed works or outstanding issues to the responsible supervisor.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, repairs, breakdowns, and spare parts used.
- Ensure all mechanical maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with health, safety, and project maintenance procedures.
- Perform any other mechanical maintenance duties assigned by the direct supervisor.

- Working hours: 8:30AM - 4:30 PM
- Working days: 6 Days per week
