Al-Asem is hiring a Legal Affairs Supervisor in Baghdad to manage legal support, contract drafting, regulatory compliance, and governmental follow-ups for real estate development and investments. Candidates must have a law degree, at least 5 years of legal experience, and a license to practice law in Iraq.

The Legal Affairs Supervisor is responsible for providing legal support and follow-up for all company activities related to real estate development, investment projects, contracts, regulatory compliance, and corporate matters. The role ensures that the company’s operations comply with Iraqi laws and regulations while protecting the company’s legal and commercial interests.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal documents related to real estate development, construction, leasing, investment, procurement, and partnerships.
- Follow up on all legal matters with governmental authorities, municipalities, land registries.
- Ensure compliance with Iraqi laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Handle legal correspondence and coordinate with external legal advisors and law firms when required.
- Review land ownership documents, title deeds, and property registration procedures.
- Support project teams in legal aspects related to development projects and investments.
- Monitor litigation cases, claims, disputes, and legal risks involving the company.
- Prepare legal reports, notices, and official communications.
- Advise management on legal implications of business decisions and transactions.
- Maintain and organize legal records, contracts, licenses, and company documents.
- Follow up on company claims licenses, permits, registrations, and renewals.
- Assist in dispute resolution and settlement negotiations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in law (mandatory)
- Minimum [5] years of experience in legal practice, preferably in real estate development, construction, or investment companies.
- Strong knowledge of Iraqi property and land laws
- Strong knowledge of Investment regulations
- Strong knowledge of Contract law and dispute resolution
- Strong knowledge of Iraqi commercial, real estate, labor, and corporate laws.
- Experience in contract drafting and legal follow-up with governmental entities.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Arabic and English is preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
