Position: Soft Skills Trainer

Location: Erbil, Iraq

Reports to: Learning & Development Advisor

Contract Type: Per-assignment

Smithson Ltd. is a training, research, and consultancy firm operational since 2018, delivering capacity-building and professional development services to UN agencies, INGOs, government institutions, and private-sector clients across Iraq.

The Soft Skills Trainer will design and deliver interactive training sessions in Kirkuk for diverse audiences, including entry-level professionals, mid-career staff, and community participants. The trainer will adapt content and delivery to local cultural and linguistic contexts, ensuring sessions are practical, engaging, and outcome-oriented.

ئەرکەکان

  • Deliver soft skills training sessions in Kurdish and Arabic to groups of varying sizes and backgrounds.
  • Develop and adapt training materials, presentations, handouts, and exercises aligned with Smithson's training standards and brand style.
  • Conduct pre- and post-training assessments to measure participant learning and progress.
  • Facilitate interactive methodologies including role-plays, group work, case studies, and simulations.
  • Provide individual coaching and feedback to participants where required.
  • Prepare training reports, attendance records, and evaluation summaries after each session.
  • Coordinate with Smithson's project and logistics teams on scheduling, venues, and participant communication.
  • Represent Smithson professionally with clients, partners, and participants in Kirkuk.

مەرجەکان

  • Bachelor's degree in education, business administration, human resources, social sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience delivering soft skills or professional development training.
  • Full professional fluency in Kurdish and Arabic (spoken and written) is mandatory; working knowledge of English is an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to design participatory, adult-learning-based training sessions.
  • Strong facilitation, presentation, and group management skills.
  • Familiarity with the Kirkuk context and ability to work with mixed-background audiences.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (PowerPoint, Word) for materials preparation and reporting.
  • Training of Trainers (ToT) certification.
  • Experience working with NGOs, UN agencies, or donor-funded programmes.
  • Experience conducting training needs assessments.
  • Culturally sensitive, patient, and energetic facilitator.
  • Punctual, organized, and reliable in reporting and documentation.
  • Committed to inclusive participation, including gender-balanced engagement.
