Kurdistan Save the Children (KSC), established in 1991, is a non-profit organization based in Sulaymaniyah, dedicated to providing assistance without regard to race, gender, traditions, political, or religious affiliation. Our non-political and non-sectarian approach guides our work with children, focusing on child protection, sponsorship, health, and education initiatives. The Health Program Coordinator supports the Health Program Manager in the effective coordination, implementation, monitoring, and documentation of KSC health programs and projects. The position facilitates coordination between health project teams, internal departments, government health authorities, partners, and other stakeholders, ensuring timely follow-up of program activities, operational requirements, reporting, and documentation.

- Support the Health Program Manager and relevant health project/activity teams in coordinating implementation of approved health activities in line with workplans, project requirements, donor requirements, and KSC policies and procedures.
- Track agreed activities, deliverables, deadlines, meetings, field visits, trainings, medical missions, awareness activities, and other health program events, and follow up with responsible teams as required.
- Identify implementation delays, coordination gaps, operational bottlenecks, and emerging issues and promptly bring significant matters to the attention of the Health Program Manager.
- Facilitate coordination and information sharing among health projects/activities and relevant KSC departments, without taking over responsibilities assigned to specialized functions.
- Support preparation and coordination of health program meetings, workshops, trainings, assessments, donor/partner visits, and other approved program events.
- Follow up with responsible health project/activity teams on implementation progress and agreed actions, including activities related to child health services, medical missions, hospital/public-sector support, referrals and treatment support, health awareness activities, psychosocial support initiatives, and other Health Program activities as assigned.
- Support coordination with relevant health facilities, health directorates, government health authorities, implementing partners, medical teams, NGOs, UN agencies, and other stakeholders as delegated by the Health Program Manager.
- Participate in coordination meetings, technical discussions, workshops, and stakeholder engagements as delegated, and document and follow up agreed actions.
- Support routine monitoring follow-up by collecting relevant implementation information, reviewing supporting documentation for completeness, and following up outstanding inputs with responsible teams.
- Provide relevant programmatic information and supporting evidence to the MEAL team and follow up on agreed actions; do not assume responsibility for MEAL systems, indicator management, data analysis, or evaluation functions.
- Collect and consolidate timely inputs from health project/activity teams for internal program updates and reporting processes as assigned by the Health Program Manager.
- Maintain coordination trackers, action-point logs, activity calendars, and program follow-up records relevant to the position.
- Maintain organized records of program meetings, field visits, follow-up actions, correspondence, activity updates, and other coordination documentation.
- Facilitate communication between the Health Program and relevant KSC departments to support implementation of approved activities.
- Support communication with health authorities, hospitals, partners, and other stakeholders on routine program follow-up as delegated by the Health Program Manager.
- Provide accurate health program information and supporting materials to the Communications/Media team when requested.
- Support the collection and verification of activity information, photographs, success stories, and other materials in accordance with KSC policies, safeguarding requirements, and appropriate consent procedures.
- Follow KSC safeguarding, PSEA, Code of Conduct, health and safety, confidentiality, data protection, and other relevant organizational policies and procedures.
- Promote safe, inclusive, accountable, and child-centered approaches in health program coordination and field activities.
- Maintain confidentiality of beneficiary and program information and report safeguarding, compliance, security, or other serious concerns through established KSC mechanisms.
- Ensure that documentation and follow-up activities under the coordinator’s responsibility are maintained in accordance with KSC procedures and relevant project requirements.
- Undertake other duties relevant to the position as assigned by the Health Program Manager or authorized KSC management.
مەرجەکان
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Health Sciences, Nursing, Medicine, Pharmacy, Health Management, Development Studies, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in health programming, program coordination, project support, or a related field.
- Experience working with NGOs, humanitarian/development programs, or health-sectors.
- Experience in program implementation, monitoring, reporting, and stakeholder coordination.
- Good understanding of the health and operational context of Iraq and/or the Kurdistan Region.
- Strong coordination, organization, communication, and follow-up skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Fluency in Kurdish and good written and spoken English
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Teams.
