mselect is looking to hire a Well Intervention Superintendent for an international oil and gas operator in Erbil, Iraq.

The Well Intervention Superintendent is responsible for the planning and execution of all rigless well intervention programmes and operations, providing HSSE and operational leadership to the Well Services team, junior staff, and contractors. Based in the Erbil Office, the role has overall responsibility for rigless operations, ensuring fit-for-purpose intervention programmes and operational excellence across Kurdistan operations.

Demonstrate a personal commitment to Health, Safety and the Environment by adhering to Local Statutory Health, Safety & Environmental Regulations and the Corporate Health, Safety & Environment Policy, and applying safety management systems
Review HSE risk acceptance criteria and specific emergency preparedness requirements for Well Intervention projects and update as required
Maintain an overview of all non-conformances which have arisen regarding specific operations
Investigate and report on-site incidents and non-conformances where assigned
Participate in regular well service and stimulation unit inspections with the contractor and act on the results of these
Ensure QA/QC commitments from service companies are applied
Perform a QHSE audit of service companies in accordance with the company rules
Identify and manage simultaneous operations (SIMOPS); Prepare, approve and enforce the SIMOPS matrix and permit wherever rigless activity runs concurrently with production, drilling, construction or third-party activity, and coordinate daily operations in accordance with that permit
Review the well intervention programmes/instructions.
Lead and optimise the design of the well intervention starting from the conceptual design and managing the installation of the final design
Assist the WS team in the preparation of AFEs for each operation
Maintain the database for each well and field
Serve as technical lead for the call-for-tender process for well intervention and rigless service contracts, and contribute to the development of contracting strategy for intervention services
Ensure all programmes, procedures and reports are prepared in accordance with the Well Delivery Process and the Business Management System
Responsible for providing comprehensive and on-site support to well-intervention operations in accordance with the company rules
Manage well intervention contracts actively where assigned as Contract Holder
Provide adequate technical directions and managerial support for in-progress operations related to all interventions
Identify well-intervention risks and manage them
Perform technical audits in service companies as and when required
Plan and coordinate well intervention operations, including pressure surveys, fishing, perforations, CBL/VDL logging, sand clean-out, TTBPs, water shut-off, etc
Review all job/service tickets concerning WI activity and verify they are following contractual requirements and quote proposals
Coordinate logistics for the movement of intervention equipment, materials and personnel to minimise cost while maintaining operational readiness
Maintain working knowledge of ESP-completed wells, including Y-tool bypass space-out, packer and hanger penetrators and cable splices, so that interventions on ESP wells are planned and executed without damage to the installation
Verify and maintain the well barrier philosophy throughout every intervention; Confirm the number, type and integrity of barriers continuously during execution, and stop the operation where barrier status cannot be assured
Oversee the preparation of wells for servicing and intervention, arranging pre-job kill procedures where applicable and ensuring appropriate barriers and well control equipment are in place and tested
Select and apply the appropriate shut-in procedures for well control incidents encountered during intervention to maintain well integrity and avoid harm to personnel or the environment
Develop and maintain policies, procedures and contingency plans for conducting interventions on live wells and under pressure, and document operational best practice and case histories
Plan, execute and interpret pressure and leak testing of surface and subsurface equipment, and ensure statutory requirements, company procedures and safe work practices are met throughout
Act as the final field authority for coiled tubing intervention; Approve or reject non-standard CT practices within delegated authority, and exercise the authority to suspend or terminate CT operations to protect people, the environment and well integrity
Review the design and lead complex or higher-risk coiled tubing operations, including milling, live-well intervention, tight-margin work and operations in HPHT, sour, depleted or complex SIMOPS environments
Review the CT clean-out operations plan, including asphaltene and organic deposit removal, fill clean-out, and nitrogen lifting, displacement, and kick-off
Diagnose and manage non-routine CT events — lock-up, buckling, differential sticking, reach limitation, circulation losses and pressure anomalies — and direct contingency and recovery actions, including recovery of stuck or parted strings
Review and challenge CT string fatigue and life-tracking records, and tubing-force and hydraulics modelling, before approving any CT programme
Diagnose and treat emulsion blocks and near-wellbore damage; Select and approve chemical packages with production chemistry support, and verify that compatibility and bottle testing have been completed before treatment
Lead post-job reviews for all CT and stimulation operations, capture lessons learned and cascade them to the WS team and contractors
Daily operations meeting and communication with the Dubai team in town
Check Daily Reports during all WI operations (DWR) before sending them to the management list
Confirm the Daily Cost Tracker during all WS operations (DCR)
Initiate the Management of Change (MOC) process when required and communicate the issue to the WS manager and support team in Dubai

المتطلبات

Bachelor’s degree
Valid H?S and IWCF Well Intervention Level 4 certifications
Minimum 15 years of experience in well intervention, including at least 8 years in an office-based Well Intervention Superintendent role
Relevant safety training is required to perform work at the site, in accordance with company policies and applicable country laws and regulations
Demonstrates commitment to HSSE policy and statement and knows and understands expectations as detailed in the HSSE Management System
Develops highly positive relationships with both field and office teams
Demonstrates highly effective communication skills, e.g., operational reporting, high visibility, and working relationships
Looks beyond the obvious in problem-solving
Applies sound judgement in decision-making – communicates with the Deputy Head of Drilling in relation to unplanned/non-routine activities
Ensures cost-effective use of services and equipment
Maintains a strong focus on progress towards the achievement of objectives
Demonstrates a high level of competence in leading others
