KAR OG Alan Sasan DMCC is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join its Finance Department.

Position Title: Senior Accountant

Department: Finance Department

Reports To: Finance Manager

Work Location: Erbil

Employment Type: Full-time

  • Working Hours: 8:30 AM–4:30 PM

المهام

  • Ensure understanding at a detailed level and lead the accounting and financial reporting functions for multiple oil and gas projects including general ledger review, account coding, accounting system data accuracy and completeness, trial balance, cash on hand and banks account, fixed asset register, inventories, cost per well, AP and expenses
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting of AP, GL, cost accounting, expense recognition, taxes, payroll
  • Draft timely and accurate monthly and quarterly and annual financial statements for management review
  • Prepare details for the annual budget and ensure it is prepared on time. Prepare variance reports.
  • Record all bank and cash transactions on time. Prepare daily cash/bank balances agree to GL balances. Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
  • Draft internal and external financial reports for weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting. Substantiate reports with underlying source data. Delivers reports on time with accuracy internally (to management) or externally (to government, other stakeholders). Deliver reports in accordance with internal company reporting requirements and/or external reporting requirements
  • Present key findings in financial data to senior management
  • Under supervision, coordinate with external auditors, government auditors, tax advisors, Iraq auditor and accountant, and regulatory bodies. Ensure audit, tax, and Iraq statutory reporting deadlines are met
  • Ensure month-end closure of accounting system/GL. Close annual trial balances and ensure accurate and complete capture of accounting transactions for the year
  • Support internal and external audit requirements
  • Reliable and dependable for any internal and external adhoc requests and requirements
  • Report cash flow positions and forecast cash flow needs
  • Perform due diligence on accounting documents, supplier bank accounts, ultimate beneficiaries for payments
  • Analyze intercompany transactions and ensure proper eliminations and reconciliations between group companies

المتطلبات

  • Meets the job description requirements above
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience supporting oil company operations in a similar role. Iraq and Middle east experience is an asset. Oil and gas experience is an asset
  • Extensive experience in management accounting, controllership role, and finance department role.
  • Responds to management requests and deadlines on time with accuracy. Works under pressure. Delivers results and improves process.
  • Is dependable and reliable. Team player.
  • Experience and solid understanding in bookkeeping, accounting records, accounting documents, accounting workflow, internal controls, financial statements, financial reporting, audits
  • CCPA, CPA, CA is an asset. ERP experience is an asset.
  • English is required; Kurdish and Arabic are preferred.
