Wood is recruiting for a Maintenance Mechanical Rotating Engineer Field to join its Iraq business unit focusing on executing and coordinating field maintenance activities for rotating equipment to ensure work is performed safely, correctly, efficiently, and in accordance with approved technical requirements.

المهام
- Execute and coordinate field maintenance activities for rotating equipment to ensure work is performed safely, correctly, efficiently, and in accordance with approved technical requirements. Act as the field execution owner and first-line technical responder for rotating equipment maintenance and breakdowns, providing hands-on technical oversight, rapid troubleshooting, maintenance quality assurance, and accurate field-validated information to support operational and management decisions. Translate approved maintenance strategy and engineering requirements into high-quality field execution while ensuring accurate as found/as-left documentation, equipment readiness, and effective coordination between Maintenance, Operations, Planning, contractors, and supporting disciplines.
- Lead and coordinate field execution of preventive, corrective, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities for rotating equipment.
- Provide hands-on technical guidance during equipment dismantling, inspection, overhaul, alignment, mechanical seal replacement, assembly, installation, and commissioning.
- Ensure maintenance activities comply with OEM requirements, approved job plans, procedures, and technical requirements.
- Verify field conditions and identify technical or execution constraints before and during maintenance activities.
- Coordinate technicians and contractor personnel assigned to rotating equipment activities.
- Monitor field progress and immediately escalate significant technical, resource, or operational constraints.
- Act as the first-line Mechanical technical responder for rotating equipment breakdowns and abnormal operating conditions.
- Conduct on-site inspection and troubleshooting to identify probable failure modes and determine immediate maintenance requirements.
- Assess abnormal vibration, noise, leakage, temperature, lubrication, mechanical seal, bearing, coupling, and other equipment conditions.
- Implement appropriate corrective actions within established technical procedures and authority.
- Escalate complex, recurring, or high-risk technical issues with clear fact-based findings to the Section Head and relevant technical specialist.
- Support safe and timely restoration of equipment to operational service.
- Verify critical maintenance steps including alignment, lubrication, flushing, torqueing, clearances, mechanical seal installation, bearing installation, and pre-start checks as applicable.
- Confirm that required measurements, inspection results, and acceptance criteria are properly recorded.
- Inspect as-found and as-left equipment conditions.
- Identify execution or workmanship gaps and initiate corrective actions.
- Verify mechanical readiness following maintenance and prior to equipment handover to Operations.
- Participate in equipment trial runs and post-maintenance performance verification.
- Coordinate closely with Operations regarding equipment access, isolation, operational priorities, testing, and return to service.
- Coordinate with Planning regarding work scope, job plans, manpower, materials, special tools, and execution requirements.
- Coordinate field interfaces with Electrical, Instrumentation, Piping, lifting teams, contractors, and other supporting disciplines.
- Verify readiness of spare parts, materials, tools, lifting arrangements, and specialist support before execution.
- Support implementation of approved reliability, maintenance improvement, and technical recommendations.
- Provide field feedback to improve PM tasks, job plans, and execution strategies.
- Ensure accurate recording of as-found/as-left equipment conditions, inspection findings, measurements, replaced components, and technical remarks.
- Provide meaningful technical information for work-order completion and closure in Maximo.
- Ensure maintenance execution information is captured sufficiently to support future troubleshooting and failure analysis.
- Contribute field lessons learned for continuous improvement.
- Identify recurring execution issues and communicate improvement opportunities to the Section Head, Specialist, and Planning.
- Support field execution of rotating equipment activities during shutdowns, turnarounds, major overhauls, and facility upgrades.
- Verify field readiness and execution requirements for assigned major maintenance activities.
- Coordinate contractors, technicians, tools, materials, and supporting resources at the work site.
- Monitor technical quality and progress of assigned work.
- Support commissioning, startup, and post-maintenance verification activities.
- Ensure assigned field activities comply with company HSSE policies, Permit to Work requirements, Job Safety Analysis, and approved work methods.
- Participate in toolbox talks, risk assessments, and pre-job safety discussions.
- Identify unsafe conditions and stop or escalate activities where required.
- Ensure technicians and contractors understand relevant job hazards and controls.
- Support incident investigations and emergency maintenance activities when required.
المتطلبات
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related engineering discipline.
- Good practical knowledge of rotating equipment maintenance and field troubleshooting.
- Basic knowledge of rotating machinery operation, maintenance requirements, and applicable technical standards.
- Professional Certifications: Preferred (Advantage/Not Mandatory):
- Vibration Analysis ISO Category I/II.
- Rotating Equipment Maintenance / Alignment Certification.
- RCA / Failure Analysis training.
- Relevant HSSE certification.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant Mechanical / Rotating Equipment maintenance experience, preferably within oil & gas, petrochemical, power generation, or similar industrial/process facilities.
- Practical field experience with rotating equipment such as pumps, compressors, gearboxes, and associated components.
- Basic practical understanding of bearings, mechanical seals, couplings, lubrication systems, and alignment.
- Experience in preventive and corrective maintenance and basic rotating equipment troubleshooting.
- Exposure to equipment overhaul, inspection, alignment, and commissioning is preferred.
- Exposure to coordinating technicians and/or contractor personnel during field maintenance execution is preferred.
